Rehearsals for Newtown Middle School’s production of Beauty and the Beast, Jr, continued this week as the dates for public performances inch closer.

Housatonic Valley Waldorf School students presented their eighth grade projects for their fellow students on March 13 and for parents and members of the school community on March 14.

Superintendent of Schools Dr Lorrie Rodrigue announced in an e-mail to district parents on March 28, that Friday, March 29 is “Family Friendly Friday,” and she is encouraging all to take part in the day. The event is for all students, staff, and families.

The Newtown Winter Guard teams performed at the Musical Arts Conference (MAC) competition on Saturday, March 23, at Norwalk High School.

BRIDGEPORT — The area’s largest College Fair will be held Thursday, April 4, from 4 to 8 pm, at The Webster Bank Arena, 600 Main Street.

NHS students, parents, staff, and community members are invited to attend a Community Service Fair scheduled for April 9 at Newtown High School.

A “tale as old as time” is coming together on the stage at Newtown Middle School. Students have been hard at work to prepare for the musical Beauty and the Beast Jr, which will be staged at the school, 11 Queen Street, April 5 to 7.
