As third graders at Hawley Elementary School entered the school’s multipurpose room on March 26, Newtown High School Spanish students greeted them.

Newtown Winter Percussion announced in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 9, it will hold a special “send off show” at 7:30 pm this evening in Newtown High School’s main gymnasium, 12 Berkshire Road.

Colorful fruit bowls, self-portraits, and gleaming ceramic pieces created by Newtown’s kindergarten through twelfth grade students are on display at Newtown’s Municipal Gallery at Fairfield Hills, 3 Primrose Street, through April 12.

Students from Japan recently spent nearly two weeks in Newtown, visiting through the Japan Society Junior Fellows Leadership program, in collaboration with the Newtown International Center for Education (NICE.)

The Musical Arts Conference (MAC) Winter Guard Championships were held at Trumbull High School on Saturday, March 30. The event marked the culmination of the Newtown Color Guard’s award-winning winter season for both winter guard teams.

Newtown Middle School’s musical production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr is set to be staged this weekend, April 5 to 7, at the school, 11 Queen Street.
