Free Movie Saturday Night At Edmond Town Hall

The next film to be offered free of charge at Edmond Town Hall Theatre, thanks to Ingersoll Auto of Danbury, will be Race.

In this drama released in February, director Stephen Hopkins tells the story of Jesse Owens's quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history, while at the same time the athlete is thrust onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler's vision of Aryan supremacy.

The film features Stephan James as Jesse Owens. The cast also includes Jason Sudeikas, Jeremy Irons, Eli Goree and Shanice Banton. It is rated PG-13 (thematic elements and language), and has a running time of 2 hours, 14 minutes.

Ingersoll Auto of Danbury will cover the cost of tickets for anyone who wishes to attend the 7 pm screening on Saturday, May 21.  The dealership, owned by Todd Ingersoll of Newtown, has been offering at least one free movie each month since January 2013 at the movie theater inside the historic building at 45 Main Street.

Moviegoers simply have to show up at the box office shortly before the screening begins, and tell the attendant how many people are in their party. Reservations are not taken for the free screenings.
