Welcome To Wilton:

There Are More Than 125 Reasons To

Come To Wilton On December 7!

Reason #1: This show has an incredible roster of 110 distinguished dealers who will offer fresh-to-the-market goods from three centuries covering diverse areas of collecting.

Reason #111: Excitement and diversity! Not just a dull “brown furniture” show — though there is a fine selection of high country and high-style furniture — there is so much more to see. This is a great source for country furniture in paint, also.

Reason #112: Folk art reigns! Collector quality or funky, colorful or serious, you will find visually interesting objects in the Wilton Holiday Antiques Show.

Reason #113: Vintage holiday objects and decorations, toys, ornaments and feather trees will add a festive note to the show floor, as well as character to the homes they go to.

Reason #114: The ceramics selection is impressive, with specialists in English and Oriental wares, as well as American folk pottery, Dutch and English delft, Quimper and other types.

Reason #115: The wide choices and the quality of the art at the show are superb. From early American portraits and miniatures to all of the “schools” of the Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries. Oils on canvas, works on paper and prints will enhance homes both traditional and contemporary.

Reason #116: This is a great venue for designers, decorators and homeowners looking for interesting furnishings for the home that have far greater and lasting value than one can find at the Pottery Barn or Bloomingdale’s!

Reason #117: Textiles from early homespun to hooked rugs to vintage quilts will be offered to add color and texture, which will enliven the home.

Reason #118: Silver and jewelry will be available. English and American silver, estate jewelry and other types will make great holiday gifts. The choices will be greater than ever.

Reason #119: Twentieth Century objects and furniture will add interest to several booths. This hot area of collecting may be unexpected in Wilton, but “Modern” is of growing interest to younger folks, and brings back memories to us older folk!

Reason #120: Choosing antiques as gifts is a smart investment. The choices are endless, the variety will fit almost any taste, and the value is substantial. Antiques will hold their value or accrue in value, unlike most goods purchased at the “mall”!

Reason #121: Shopping at a show is smarter than using the Internet or buying at auction. Isn’t it better to see, hold, feel, smell, check for condition and make a true evaluation of color and quality? Dealing directly with a knowledgeable and trustworthy dealer is always wise. Buyers have recourse with a dealer, but if you make a mistake at auction, you have no recourse. And, did you know that you can usually make better buys at a show than at auction?

Reason #122: The Wilton Holiday Antiques Show is fun, festive and low key. It is not “stuffy” and the dealers are there to help educate beginners, as well as offer great things to experienced collectors.

Reason #123: The convenience of traveling to Wilton with plenty of parking, with a field house and café area that will showcase so many dealers, allows us to offer quality, variety and fair prices.

Reason #124: An ad giving an admission discount appears in this paper.

Reason #125: Early buying, which runs from 9 to 10 am, gives first choice to eager buyers and one of them will win a $200 gift certificate to use in an exhibitor’s booth. All of them will enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast.

Reason #126: Show admissions will go to the John Corr Memorial Fund, which gives a scholarship to Wilton’s top scholar/athlete who exemplifies the spirit of John Corr, a Wilton graduate and football player who was killed in Vietnam in 1967.

Getting to the Wilton Holiday Show is well worth your while!

And…living with antiques is the best form of recycling!

Hope to see you in Wilton.
