MONROE â The Monroe Historical Society will present a Halloween program for families and Scout troops on Sunday, October 28. It will be held at the societyâs 1770 Eliot Beardsley Homestead, at 31 Great Ring Road.
Childrenâs School Librarian and storyteller Sue Selk will tell Halloween stories as well as tell the stories about Monroeâs old witch, Mrs Hannah Hovey. Also known as Hannah Cranna, Mrs Hovey lived in Monroe in the 19th Century near Bug Hill and is buried in Gregoryâs Four Corners Cemetery in Trumbull.
There will be three story telling sessions, at 4, 4:30 and 5. Space is limited.
