Newtown Choral Society, under the direction of Mary Andreotta, will begin its 30th season when rehearsals commence on Wednesday, September 21, for a January 2017 concert.Psalm 30 and Faure's Cantique De Jean Racine. The program will also include works by Aaron Copeland, Andre Thomas and John Williams.lel-choirs3@se-ltd.com.

Newtown Choral Society is a community chorus and welcomes members from all area towns. There are openings in all sections, but sopranos especially are invited to join. The choir, which performs two concerts a year and welcomes both novice and experienced singers, is supported by dues, ticket sales, and program advertisements.

The group rehearses weekly, on Wednesday evening, in the choral room on Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.
