ON THE ROAD FOR MARCH 28

Start the face painting.

MARILYN MANSON tickets go on sale Saturday morning for the band's May 7

concert at the Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford. MM will be the last indoor

show of the season, after which the walls will be opened. HELMET will open the

show, which starts at 7:30, and what's being billed as a "musical interlude"

will be provided by RASPUTINA.

All tickets for the show are $23, and there are limited mosh pit tickets

available. The Meadows does a pretty good job setting up a mosh pit for some

of its shows: Some of the front-most rows of seats on the floor are pulled

out, a temporary divider is erected (keeping moshers in, non-ticket holding

mosher wannabes out), and security does a good job keeping control around the

pit.

Indoor-outdoor show announcements are also starting to trickle out of the

promotions office from Hartford. DAVE MATTHEWS will return to Hartford June 9

(note: the same day of your favorite On The Road columnist's birthday), and

THE WHO is very possible for an August show. No date, no tickets yet on that

one.

The AGNOSTIC FRONT show at Tuxedo Junction on April 20 is an early show, and

for good reason. While AF may be the headliner for that "Hardcore Superbowl,"

also appearing on the bill is THE BUSINESS, WAR ZONE, 25 TA LIFE and

HATEBREED.

Proposition of the week: Where does a 14-year old go after being named world

champion, at anything, whether it is figure skating or playing Mortal Kombat??

Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.

Questions and comments concerning "On The Road" (or anything music related)

should be sent to Shannon Hicks, c/o Bee Publishing Co., 5 Church Hill Road,

Newtown 06470, or send me your cyber thoughts at editor @thebee.com (put

Attention Shannon on the subject line). Include a phone number for

confirmation, por favor . If you don't have a stamp or a piece of paper or a

writing utensil that works, give me a call! Phone number at the office is

426-3141. Leave a name, though, because anonymous messages left with the

receptionist don't cut it.
