Free Movies Today At Edmond Town Hall Theatre

With school canceled for another day due to cleanup work following the May 15 storm, Edmond Town Hall's Board of Managers has announced free movie screenings for Monday, May 21.Despicable Me 3 at 10:30 am, and then a screening of Captain Underpants at 1 pm.[naviga:img class="aligncenter wp-image-275857" src="https://newtownbee.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Despicable-Me-31.jpg" alt="Despicable Me 3" width="200" height="295" /]Despicable Me 3 continues the story of Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) and his minions. This time Gru - now happily married to Lucy (voice of Kristen Wiig) - Gru discovers how good it feels to be bad again when he reunites with his long lost twin brother (voice of Trey Parker) for one last fling at being despicable in this animated comedy that continues the popular series.

Continuing the animated offerings,

Captain Underpants features the vocal talents of Kevin Hart, Ed Helms and Thomas Middleditch.

Elementary school pranksters George Beard and Harold Hutchins (Hart and Middleditch) hypnotize their mean-spirited principal, Mr Krupp (Helms), into thinking he is Captain Underpants, a hero in comic books that George and Harold write together. The results are less than heroic in this animated comedy adventure based on the children's novel series by Dav Pilkey.

This film is rated PG and also has a running time of 1:30.

The town hall's concession stand will be open for all three shows.

In addition to the free screenings,

Edmond Town Hall is currently featuring The Post, starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks. Screenings of the drama based on a true story will continue to May 23. Remaining shows are planned through Wednesday, May 23, at 7 pm; there is also a matinee scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, at 1 pm.

Tickets for The Post are $3; senior citizen tickets for Tuesday's matinee are $2.
