Postponements And Cancellations Continue In Wake Of Tuesday's Storm
Newtown Congregational Church office is closed Thursday, May 17.
The
9th Annual Strutt Your Mutt event, scheduled for Saturday, May 19, at Fairfield Hills, from 11 am to 2 pm, has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 2, same location. The event will run from noon until 3 pm in June, however. Advance registration has been extended to May 30.
The May 19, 6 pm, and May 20, 2 pm,
performances of Camp Unified, by Newtown High School's United Theater program have been postponed. New dates will be determined later.
The
Victory Garden Celebration at Fairfield Hills scheduled for Sunday, May 20, from 1 to 3 pm, has been postponed. A new date will be announced.
All
town playing fields including Treadwell and Tilson artificials will remain closed Thursday, May 17.
The
Merryhill Touch-A-Truck event scheduled for Sunday, May 20, at Sand Hill Plaza has been postponed due to storm issues. A new date will be announced.
Tonight's
Borough Board of Burgesses budget meeting has been canceled. Borough Warden James Gaston is hoping to reschedule for next week.
Tonight's
Sustainable Energy Committee meeting has also been canceled.
This weekend's
Sunday at The Sanctuary event, "Bio Blitz," at The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, has been canceled.
Newtown Public Schools will be closed again on Friday.
The
Paper Shredding Event being presented by Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire andamp; Rescue Company Ladies Auxiliary is being postponed, also due to ongoing cleanup efforts in the area. A new date will be announced.
"Harmonize," the concert by Stacie MorgainÃÂ Lewis, with special guests, a fundraiser for Sandy Hook Promise scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Newtown Congregational Church, has been moved following the loss of power at NCC. The event will now take place at Masuk High School, 1014 Monroe Turnpike (Route 111) in Monroe, and it will begin at 1:30 (30 minutes later than originally planned).
