New Outing Club At Great Hollow

NEW FAIRFIELD — The Great Hollow Wilderness School (GHWS) is starting a new outing club for people who enjoy outdoor activities and exploring the nearby wilderness. All levels of experience are welcome.

Veteran outdoor enthusiasts are encouraged to come share their expertise, while the less experienced are invited to join and learn new outdoor activities.

The club will be a member-directed experience. Though GHWS can provide equipment when needed and instruction if wanted, what the club will really be all about is members sharing, teaching, and learning together.

Whether it is hiking the Appalachian Trail in Kent, or sea kayaking in the Everglades, what the club will do — and where it will be — are limited only by the imaginations of its members.

There will be a $30 administrative fee. Additional fees may be required depending on activities and locations.

Great Hollow Wilderness School and Conference Center is a branch of the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut.

For more information contact Jim McDonough at 746-5852, extension 102, or at JMcDonough@RegionalYMCA.org.
