To The Editor:

We endorse Eva Zimmerman as Connecticut's 106th District state representative.

As advocates for gun violence prevention, we support Eva's position on sensible gun laws and gun safety. Eva grew up in Hartford and unfortunately is too familiar with urban violence and its effect on friends and family. She supports the expansion of background checks for gun sales. She will support existing legislation that advocates gun safety, including the ban on assault weapons and current ordinances for gun-free zones in Newtown. She will be a champion to make sure these laws are not repealed.

Eva supports our schools and would be an advocate for Newtown in Hartford. She would ensure that Newtown receives our fair share of state funds, help make our state colleges more affordable, and expand access to advanced job training programs.

Eva is intelligent, motivated, and energetic. She is unflappable when faced with adversity and will be a tireless advocate for Newtown.

Please vote for Eva Zimmerman on November 8 for our next state representative.
