Mary (Phillips) Russo, 75, of Danbury died unexpectedly in her sleep on October 16, while on a weekend getaway with her daughters.

She was born on September 30, 1941, to Helen and Leonard Phillips in Reading, Penn.

Mrs Russo was the owner of The Sandy Hook Cafe from 1978 to 1988. She retired as a bartender from Bebe's Lounge in Danbury.

Her children and their spouses, Debra and Walter Wirag, Diane and Brian Taylor, John Russo, Leonard and Dawn Russo, and Douglas and Kim Russo, survive her. Her brothers Charles and William Phillips; her sister Lenore Scott; and the sister-of-her-heart, Rose Mena, also survive her. She was affectionately known as "Noni" to her 15 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, with two more great-grandchildren on their way. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
