Watercolor Demo By Dubreil, December 2 At Meeting House

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will present a watercolor demonstration during its next program, scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, at 1:30 pm. Diane Dubreuil of New Milford will demonstrate landscape painting with watercolors and describe her experiences as a plein air watercolorist.

The program will take place in the lower level of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole). The program is open to the public and admission is free.

Diane Dubreuil was raised in Maine and spent a great deal of time in the out-of-doors. In addition to raising a family and working nearly full time, she has been practicing watercolor most of her adult life.

As a watercolorist, she paints primarily en plein air and has participated in several plein air competitions over the last few years. Her presentation for SCAN will include highlights of her plein air adventures in 2015.

Ms Dubreuil is currently resides in New Milford, and is chair for New Milford Commission on the Arts. Through that position, she developed Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio, which is a co-op fine art gallery overseen by the arts commission. Gallery 25, at 25 Church Street in New Milford, exhibits the works of about 25 regional artists and artisans.

In addition, Ms Dubreuil is a signature member of the International Plein Air Painters Worldwide, a signature member of New England Watercolor Society, a member of Connecticut Plein Air Painters, and participating member of several other regional arts organizations.
