Theodore "Ted" Smith, Jr, 62, formerly of Newtown, died peacefully July 26, at his home in Salisbury, N.C.

His mother, Helen Flyte; siblings, Linda Pratt, Tina Andros, and David Smith; children, Theodore Smith III, Melissa Bell, Haley Smith, and Tia Smith; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild survive him.

His father, Theodore Smith, Sr, and his stepfather, Albert Flyte, predeceased him.

The funeral will take place Friday, August 3, from 11 am to 1 pm, at the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will follow at the Mountain Grove Cemetery, 215 Dewey Street, Bridgeport.

There will be a gathering to celebrate Mr Smith's life at the VFW Post 308, 18 Tinkerfield Road, Newtown, following the funeral.
