Summer Expo For Special Needs Families

TRUMBULL â An educational expo of summer options for children with special needs will be held at the Family Program Center at Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA, 20 Trefoil Drive, Saturday, April 25.

The event will run from 1 to 4 pm and will include information about summer programs and services for children pre-K to age 12 as well as for adults with special needs. Informational packets will be available for overnight camp opportunities, adult travel and vacation programs, and day camps.

This free event is open to the public and is sponsored by Trumbull Parents of Students with Learning Differences (TPSLD), The Kennedy Center and the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA.

Representatives from Music and Arts Center for Humanity, Camp Horizon, Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA, The Kennedy Center and Search Beyond Adventures, among others, will have displays.

If they get that passed they are in hog heaven,they have plenty of fat in the original proposal.The voters will now be shamed into passing the revised budget. I say we vote it down again and see how creative they can get with the numbers.We all know plenty of fat is laced in the proposals.

I, too, love that flagpole. I approach it in the southbound lane, as Mr Gardner described, and it’s an inspiring way to start my day. In addition to all it stands for, it tells me something, whether it’s furling in the wind, or hanging quietly when weather is still, sometimes boldly majestic, sometimes sad or unsure. A gem like no other. I know it generates angst with traffic; approached with the appropriate level of caution, it should not be such a problem. Can’t really blame the flagpole, it doesn’t move. I hope it’s there long after I’m gone, and inspires others as well. Thank you Mr Gardner and all the other current, previous, and even future Keepers of the Flagpole.
