Newtown High School’s boys’ swimming and diving team defeated the visiting New Fairfield Rebels 93-82 on Senior Night, February 18. Rick Irving set the pool record in the 100-yard freestyle race, making his final touch in 48.52 for one of Newtown’s many first-place finishes.

The Nighthawks stole the show in the Hip Hop category, earning the first-place trophy for the second year in a row. Newtown took home second place for their Jazz category routine, edged out by Masuk of Monroe’s squad by just one point. Brookfield earned third in both competitions, and Stratford was second in Hip Hop.
