Shirleyann Jurenka

Shirleyann (Reardon) Jurenka, 77, wife of the late Vito “Peter” Jurenka, a longtime area resident, died September 28 in St Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury.

She was born in Newtown, October 31, 1922, daughter of the late Timothy and Fannie (Treadwell) Reardon. Mrs Jurenka was raised in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School, class of 1941. A resident of Danbury for many years, she had most recently lived in Canajoharie, N.Y., and Waterbury. She was last employed as a clerk at the J&R Lumber Co., Dover Plains, N.Y.

She is survived by one brother, Daniel Reardon of Ames, N.Y., and one sister, Elsie Dinkler of Pennsylvania.

Funeral services were held October 2 from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at St Rose Church, Newtown, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
