Shirley (Shannon) Cassidy Glynn, 87, of Sandy Hook, died July 27, after a brief illness. She was born in Sandy Hook on March 31, 1929, to Mary (Gabor) and Martin Shannon.www.honanfh.com.

She will be greatly missed by her surviving daughter Maureen Manwaring and her husband, Roger, of Gaylordsville. She was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will greatly miss her. Her husband, John Glynn, and her children Beverly, William, David, and Shawne Cassidy predeceased her.

Mrs Glynn spent her entire life in Sandy Hook. She loved to travel, and enjoyed her casino trips with her daughter, watching her favorite team, UConn, and cheering on her great-grandson, Justin, play baseball.

She was a frequent volunteer for many organizations, including the Newtown Food Pantry. She will be immensely missed by all who loved her, both family and friends.

Mrs Glynn's family requests joining them in celebrating the beautiful, caring, loving life that she lived.

Calling hours will be Sunday, July 31, from 3 to 5 pm, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.

All services and burial in St Rose Cemetery will be private.
