Wow, if this doesn't clarify the new policy as a witch hunt I don't know what will. "Pretty soon we will know who you are". In some venues that could be seen as threatening. Remember back when Bruce was running for office and he was all about being "non-partisan".
I agree, being our state rep means more than publicity shots, it means getting deeply involved in serving our interest. Rob is a democrat who can get things done in Hartford. Its time Newtown had a representative who can advance our interest in Hartford. Its time for us to be represented from the inside out, not from the minority party.
@voter: But isn't that how our entire country works? A candidate receives a majority of votes, and then they set the policy. I don't want to fund our bloated military, but the politicians who won their elections will bankroll the DOD regardless of my individual wishes. I'm not talking about anything radical here - these are the most fundamental building blocks of a republic.
Its pretty silly to me that we keep comparing 4 year terms with Trump and Biden. And then suggesting one would do better than the other. We can examine what these two men might do going forward and what the economic forecast project, but we don't get a do over on past actions. The fact is the Senate and Congress have more influence than the President, and both bodies haven't gotten much done over the last decade or two. Term limits might be a good idea.
