Fresh off a November show that featured The Slambovian Circus of Dreams — and the first half of a riddle concerning Newtown’s Main Street flagpole — The Flagpole Radio Café will return on Saturday, December 7, to Edmond Town Hall. Lucy Kaplansky will be returning to Newtown, this time to headline the stage show.

Newtown Interfaith Council is planning the 2019 Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration for Sunday, November 24. This year's celebration will be an early afternoon event.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to celebrate family, friends, and the many amazing gifts that surround us. Connecticut Choral Society will perform “Canticles of Thanksgiving” on Saturday, November 23, at 3 pm, at Trinity Episcopal Church.

Newtown Police Department will host its Second Annual “Movie With A Cop” on Saturday, November 30, at 7 pm. This year’s featured movie is "The Grinch" (2018).

Danbury Music Centre’s 52nd production of Nutcracker Ballet is scheduled for the weekend of December 13-15, and a Newtown dancer again has one of the key roles this season.

The next open house hosted by Newtown Historical Society will be Sunday, November 17, from noon until 4 pm, at The Matthew Curtiss House Museum, 44 Main Street. Special guests Tom Vaughn and Matt Mallet will show and demonstrate a variety of old tools, and guests will also have an opportunity to listen to a remastered 19th Century organette recording.

Published in September, "If I Don’t Make It, I Love You: Survivors in the Aftermath of School Shootings" presents 60 narratives written by survivors and others directly affected by school shootings in this country during the past 50 years. C.H. Booth Library will host a reading and discussion based on the book on Thursday, November 21, with the book’s editors and five of its contributors all planning to participate.
