Protect Our Pollinators, a local nonprofit organization, along with Cyrenius H. Booth Library, invites the public to a free program on Saturday, June 24, at 1 pm. The program will be presented in the lower meeting room of the library, at 25 Main Street.

The program features the film Vanishing of the Bees, which addresses the alarming decline in the honeybee population worldwide during the past decade, and includes interviews with local government officials as well as beekeepers.

The film contains vital information for anyone concerned about risks to the environment, and to the many species that depend on honeybees and pollination for food production.

Following the film, there will be a discussion about what is being done in Connecticut to support pollinators, as well as what property owners can do to foster pollinator habitats.

Handouts will be available, and refreshments will be served.
