About 3:13 pm on January 9, motorist Valerie Lynn Hunter-Miller, 54, of Sandy Hook, who was driving a 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-350 SUV, was attempting to exit a driveway at 78 Berkshire Road, as motorist Barbara Davis, 46, of North Haven was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla on Berkshire Road, police report.

The vehicles then collided on the roadway, police said. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Davis to Danbury Hospital, police said. Sandy Hook volunteer firefighters responded to the scene.

Police said they issued Hunter-Miller a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.

Police report a three-vehicle accident on Church Hill Road about 7 am on January 10, in which the motorist who caused the collision fled the scene. Police said they learned of the accident about 45 minutes after it occurred.

Police said that a Volvo was waiting behind a Honda at a traffic signal on westbound Church Hill Road, near Walnut Tree Hill Road, when the offending motorist, who was driving an unidentified vehicle, struck the rear end of the Volvo, pushing the Volvo into the rear end of the Honda. The offender then drove away from the scene, police said.

The Volvo driver reported a possible injury, but declined medical attention, police said.

The accident is under investigation and police ask anyone who knows the identity of the driver who fled the scene to contact Officer William Crone at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.

About 6:50 am on January 11, police report that a two-vehicle collision occurred on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Wasserman Way.

Westbound motorist Fengyong Gu, 45, of Orange, who was driving a 2016 Honda CR-V SUV, stopped for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by westbound motorist Brian Perez, 43, of Shelton, who was driving a 2006 GMC Envoy SUV, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Perez an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

A two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Queen Street and Elizabeth Street about 10:22 am on January 11.

Motorist Carolyn Brown, 64, of Trumbull was driving a 2009 Honda Accord eastward on Elizabeth Street, as motorist Wayne Addessi, 57, of Newtown was driving a 2004 Lexus SC-430 auto northward on Queen Street, according to police.

The Honda then entered the intersection of the two streets, resulting in the two vehicles colliding, police said. Addessi received a possible injury, police said. Police report they issued Brown a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.

Police report they learned on the morning of January 12 that a Mongoose-brand mountain bicycle had been positioned in the parking lot behind Edmond Town Hall at 45 Main Street since at least the weekend of January 7-8. That blue bicycle has red trim.

The owner may claim the bike from police, who are holding it for safekeeping at the police station at 3 Main Street; telephone 203-426-5841.

Police report a two-vehicle accident near 31 Pecks Lane about 1:48 pm on January 12.

Involved in the accident were motorist Alan Smith, 57, of Newtown, who was driving a 2007 Mazda CX-9 SUV, and motorist Daniel Coelho, 42, of Trumbull, who was driving a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SUV. There were no injuries.

Police said they issued Smith an infraction for driving an unregistered vehicle. Police also issued Smith a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at a driveway, failure to carry a valid automotive insurance card, and failure to report a change of address to the state Department of Motor Vehicles.

Police report that motorist Shawn Summers, 44, of Southbury was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Express van northward on South Main Street, near Simm Lane, about 3:43 pm on January 12, after which Summers slowed for traffic conditions and was struck from behind by northbound motorist Richard Latouf, 57, of Newtown, who was driving a 1998 Ford Econoline van.

There were no injuries. Police report they issued Latouf a misdemeanor summons on charges of failure to have automotive insurance and failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Police report that on the night of January 12, they went to the residence of Andrew Drap, 48, of 77 Bennetts Bridge Road and served him an arrest warrant, charging him with first-degree failure to appear in court stemming from an underlying charge of issuing a bad check for over $1,000.

Police said that after arrest processing, they released Drap on bail for a January 26 appearance in state Superior Court in Danbury.

Police said that on the evening of January 12, they went to the residence of Daniel Winn, 21, of 3 Horseshoe Ridge Road and served him a warrant, charging Winn with failure to pay a fine or plead to an infraction, which had been issued to Winn for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

Police report they released Winn on $150 bail for a January 26 court appearance.

At about 10:14 pm on January 12, Robert Puchalski, 44, of Bridgeport was driving a 2015 Ram truck that was hauling a trailer carrying three unoccupied vehicles eastward on Wasserman Way, just east of its intersection with Nunnawauk Road, police said.

The truck then drove off the right road shoulder, struck several trees, and got stuck in the mud, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Puchalski an infraction for failure to maintain the proper lane.

Police report that at about 7:49 pm on January 13, they spotted an erratic driver traveling in the area near the intersection of Berkshire Road and Old Mill Road, so they stopped the vehicle to investigate.

Police said they charged motorist Charles Hill, 32, of Sandy Hook with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right. After processing, police released Hill on $500 bail for a January 26 court appearance.

An accident involving two Honda CR-V SUVs occurred about 10:45 am on January 14 on South Main Street, south of its intersection with Mile Hill Road.

Police report that motorist Daniel Sadowski, 33, of Newtown was driving a 2006 Honda CR-V SUV northward on South Main Street about 250 feet south of its intersection with Mile Hill Road and then stopped for a traffic control signal.

Northbound motorist Zhou Lin, 29, of Newtown, who was driving a 2014 Honda CR-V behind the 2006 CR-V, then struck the rear end of the 2006 CR-V, police report.

There were no injuries. Lin received an infraction for following too closely, police report.

A two-vehicle head-on collision occurred on an icy Mt Pleasant Road, near Johnnie Cake Lane, about 4:48 pm on January 14.

In that incident, motorist Samuel Gates, 62, of Newtown, who was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty SUV, was heading northward on Mt Pleasant Road, as motorist Liliya Maklyan, 49, of Monroe was driving a 2009 Lexus RX-350 SUV southward, police report.

The Jeep went out of control in the icy conditions, crossed the road's center line, and then collided with the Lexus head-on in the southbound lane, according to police.

Possible minor injuries occurred in the mishap, but no one was transported to the hospital, according to police. Gates received a written warning for failure to maintain the proper lane, police said.

Police report a two-vehicle accident amid snowy conditions on South Main Street at its intersection with Button Shop Road about 6:13 pm on January 14.

Southbound motorist Barry Dimaria, 37, of Danbury, who was driving a 2004 Ford F-250 truck, stopped on South Main Street in a left-turn-only lane for Button Shop Road, police report. Motorist Matthew Lariccia, 25, of Waterbury, who was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 truck northward on South Main Street, then began sliding on the snowy road as he was entering the intersection and then struck the Ford F-250, police said.

There were no injuries. Police report they issued Lariccia an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.

At about 6:18 pm on January 14, motorist Andrew Jensen, 21, of Sandy Hook was driving a 2012 Jeep Liberty SUV southward on Obtuse Road, near Pond Brook Road, when the vehicle slid off the roadway and struck a tree, police said.

There were no injuries. Police report they verbally warned Jensen for traveling too fast for conditions.

Police report they received a call from a passerby on the night of January 15, informing them that an erratic driver had driven into the rear parking lot of the police station at 3 Main Street, so police went there to investigate.

Police said they found motorist Pamela Sherman, 57, of Redding there. After investigating, police charged Sherman with driving under the influence. After processing, Sherman was released on bail for a January 31 court appearance, police said.

A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of South Main Street and Orchard Hill Road about 8:30 am on January 16.

Motorist Adio Disu, 55, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 2012 Jeep Liberty SUV eastward on Orchard Hill Road, stopped at a stop sign at the street's intersection with South Main Street, police said. At that time, motorist Robert Gibbons, 76, of Newtown was driving a 2003 Honda Element SUV southward on South Main Street and was approaching the intersection, police said.

The Jeep then attempted to make a right turn onto South Main Street, resulting in the two vehicles colliding, police said. There were no injuries. Police report they issued Disu a written warning for failure to obey a stop sign.

Police report that they went to the residence of Matthew O'Connor, 28, of 19 Fairchild Road on January 16 and served multiple arrest warrants against him, lodging two counts of first-degree failure to appear in court, and also three counts of second-degree failure to appear in court. O'Connor is known by multiple aliases, police said.

The five charges stem from arrests that were made by municipal police in Easton and Cheshire, as well as by state police, Newtown police said.

Newtown police held O'Connor on aggregate $35,000 bail for arraignment on the charges on January 17 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

Police said that at about 11:12 pm on January 16, they responded to the intersection of Birch Hill Road and Pleasant Hill Road on a report of a vehicle having gone off the road.South Main Collision

Police said they found the Hyundai in question, but no driver was present. After investigating, police said they found the driver, who lives in that area. There were no injuries in the accident, police said.

Police said they charged motorist Patricia Dardine, 55, of Newtown with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and violation of a stop sign. After arrest processing, police released Dardine on $500 bail for a January 31 arraignment on the charges in state Superior Court in Danbury.

A two-vehicle accident occurred near 150 South Main Street about 3:56 pm on January 18.

Motorist Frank Rawlinson, 67, of Westport was driving a 2003 Subaru Outback northward on South Main Street, as motorist Isaiah James Sheffield-Thergood, 23, of Bridgeport was driving a 2015 Hyundai Elantra southward there, police report.

The Subaru then attempted to make a left turn into a commercial driveway, but the two vehicles collided, according to police. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Rawlinson for failure to grant the right of way while attempting to make a left turn.

Police report that motorist Alije Suma, 26, of Derby was driving a 2009 Honda Accord westward on an icy Berkshire Road, about 100 feet west of its intersection with Zoar Road, at about 11:40 pm on January 15, when the auto crossed the road's centerline, struck some curbing, and then traveled off the left road shoulder, hitting a utility pole, and then rolling over. Suma received minor injuries in the incident, police said. Possible enforcement information was not available. Utility crews replaced the damaged pole the following day, police said.
