Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will offer a "Know Your Camera" presentation during its next meeting, Thursday, February 9, beginning at 7:30 pm, at Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.
The program will be helpful for those who may be starting with a new camera or are ready to explore other settings. After an overview of the basic settings, attendees will get hands-on experience with their camera at different stations from experienced photographers.
The assigned subject for the month of February is "Nature." Club members are being challenged to create photos that depict nature, show no "hand of man" and follow the PSA Nature rules. While the competition is open to club members only, guests are invited to view the submissions and hear critiques by the evening's judge. Members will also be competing in the monthly categories of Open Digital, Open Color, and Open Monochrome.
Upcoming programs will include member Charles Batchelder presenting "Still Life Photography" on March 9, and a skill-building photography workshop on April 22.
There is no charge to attend Flagpole Photographers Camera Club competitions or program nights, which are open to the public.
