NMS Rehearsing 'Into The Woods Jr'

Newtown Middle School is preparing for this year's school musical, Into the Woods, Jr, which will be held at NMS, 11 Queen Street, March 3-5.Into the Woods, Jr, follows classic fairy tale characters, like Cinderella and Repunzel, as they navigate life and the woods. In the first half, the play reflects the characters as they are known through their tales; the second half imagines what happens to them, the reality of what occurs after the "happily ever after" ending. The fairy tale aspect, Mr Tammero said, is resonating with this year's students.purchased online.  Mr Tammero said the middle school's musical is a self-funded program, and ticket sales help keep the program "going year after year." Tickets are not general admission and people must purchase their seats online or the day of the performances.

"They definitely love this show this year," said director Andrew Tammero while a rehearsal was underway on Thursday, January 26.

Roughly 40 students are involved with this year's musical production, according to Mr Tammero.

The Friday, March 3, performance will be at 7 pm; the Saturday, March 4, performances will be at 2 and 7 pm; and the Sunday, March 5, performance will be at 2 pm.
