Newtown High School's wrestling team defeated visiting Pomperaug of Southbury 43-34 on January 18. They came in second in the Eagle Classic, at East Catholic High School, in Manchester, on January 20. In the Eagle Classic, the Nighthawks had four place winners, including a pair of weight division champions, as Aaron Occhipinti and Joe Zeller were first, Nik Accousti third, and Owen Walsh fourth.
