Newtown High School has scheduled a Gala Concert for Monday, April 2, at 7 pm, to dedicate its newly renovated auditorium. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 6:45 pm, followed by the concert at 7 pm.The Newtown Bee, work on the NHS auditorium renovation began in mid-February of 2017. The $3.6 million project also included a second phase of construction, approved by voters at referendum in April 2017 for an additional $750,000.

A Gala Concert was originally scheduled for the start of January, but weather caused it to be postponed until after the NHS spring musical Les Miserables, School Edition, which was staged over the weekend of March 23-25.
