Newtown High School junior Anthony Falbo who won his second national title at the National High School Coaches Association National Wrestling Championships, in Virginia Beach, Va., during the first weekend in April.

Falbo wrestled six matches and earned a pin in the quarterfinals on the way to claiming his second national title - something no other Connecticut grappler has achieved, Newtown Coach Chris Bray notes.

"He was dominant all tournament long. He only allowed one takedown and a few escapes all weekend," Bray said.

Newtown's Joe Accousti placed sixth and earned All-American status, and teammates Aaron Occhipinti and Ed Lovely both finished one round away from earning All-American status, Bray said. The coach noted that each competitor grappled in 80-plus wrestler brackets loaded with state champs and place finishers from all over the country.
