How long have you been in business?ÂÂ

We opened our first property - a sports tavern called 189 Sports cafe in Brookfield - eight years ago. Since then we have opened Connecticut Market Place locations in Newtown, Woodbury, Danbury, and Avon, as well as a Market Place, and a bar and grill called The Last Chair at Mount Snow in Vermont. We are planning our next location in Southbury.

We are an American farm-to-table cuisine and bar seating up to 130 right now, plus a private party space for up to 35 guests. Our menu here differs somewhat from all our other locations and is based primarily on the freshest and best farm and suppliers ingredients we can get on any given day. We source as much of our menu locally and regionally as possible, including Ferris Acres Creamery ice cream and Sepe Farm lamb. We even regionally sourced the barn wood and many of the decorative features we have here.

What does your restaurant offer?

Newtown is becoming a restaurant hub, and my sister-in-law owns Salon Michele here in Newtown, so when we saw this plaza being developed, we knew it would be a perfect location. We will be firing up our outdoor fireplace this week along with outside heaters available - the patio can seat around 40. Our Chef Alex came from Danbury and he is very excited to be able to create his dishes from the ground up, based on everything he can get farm fresh every day. He is responsible for his specials and has a lot of creative flexibility.What would you most like Bee readers to know about your business?ÂÂ

We plan to begin serving Sunday brunch beginning December 10 from 11 am to 3 pm, and hope to expand brunch to Saturdays in the near future. While we are closing on Christmas so our staff can spend the holidays with loved ones, we will be open and are taking reservations now for a prix fixe menu we will be serving on New year's Eve.
