Margaret Elizabeth Baksay Csanadi, 102, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Anthony F. Csanadi, died December 9 at her home at Benchmark Split Rock. She was born in Bridgeport on March 2, 1915, and was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Sytus Baksay.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, Mrs Csanadi's memory will be remembered by her sons, Gary Csanadi of Newtown, Robert Csanadi of Vermont, Timothy Csanadi and his wife Joy of Rhode Island, T. Allen Csanadi of Texas, and Randolph Csanadi of Texas; a sister, Irene Baksay of Shelton; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren who survive her.

In addition to her husband and her parents, her son Robert's wife, Carolyn; her son Gary's wife, Georgina; and three siblings, Louis Baksay, John Baksay, and Elizabeth Baksay Haydu, predeceased her.

She and Anthony "Tommy" married in 1937 and made their home in Easton for many years. They later moved to Aspetuck Village in Shelton, where he died in 1985.

In addition to being an accomplished dressmaker and tailor, Mrs Csanadi loved to cook, bake, and garden. Her many special dishes and desserts for family, friends, holidays, and occasions large and small - and her adherence to Hungarian traditions - were cherished by all know knew her. She also refinished furniture, collected and restored dolls, and loved to knit. She still found the time and energy to give generously of her many talents to senior centers and other volunteer organizations.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff, nurses, and the RCAs at the Benchmark Split Rock for their outstanding care.

Calling hours will be conducted on Wednesday, December 13, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center.
