Lynniel Stahl

Lynniel R. "Jack" Stahl, 85, of Danbury, died August 6, at his home, surrounded by family. He was the husband of Patricia Stahl. Born April 7, 1933, in Ridgefarm, Ill., he was the son of the late Catherine Vreeland. He had been a resident of Danbury for 17 years and previously had resided in Sandy Hook.

Mr Stahl attended Michigan State University, where he was a member of its ROTC program and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Following college, he entered the US Air Force, where he trained as a fighter pilot, receiving the rank of Captain. After his service, he worked as an electrical engineer in the telecommunications industry, retiring as a sales executive with General Data Comm Industries.

He enjoyed gardening and, in later years, watching golf, tennis, and Michigan State football.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Patricia, his children and their spouses, Dr Neil Stahl and Dr Jayne Raper of New York, N.Y., Cheryl and Jeffrey Martell of Potomac, Md., and Jill and Joseph Crimi of Bethel; four grandchildren, Cassie and husband Ryan, Kyle and wife Jess, Kelly, and Michael; three great-grandchildren; six siblings, Linda Taft, Jim Vreeland, Chuck Vreeland, Mary Zellner, Jann Vreeland, and Valerie Moses; and several nieces and nephews survive him.

Mr Stahl's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Lynette Nieves for her care and love and also to Dr Lisawat and the Newtown Davita team. The family says their care and kindness will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 9, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury.

A funeral service will take place Friday, August 10, at 11 am, in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
