Newtown artists Ros Liljengren, Heidrun Morgan, Stacey Olszewski and Joan Pollak will host a Holiday Open House offering unique gifts from their studios on Saturday, November 18. The one-day event will be offered from 10 am until 4 pm at 9 Mt Pleasant Terrace, and it is open to the public.

Clay artist Ros Liljengren expresses her love of the natural world through her use of color, form and texture. She shapes earth materials into decorative pieces that are both utilitarian and inspirational. Ms Liljendgren is a member of the Connecticut Clay Artists (connecticutclayartists.org), a group of Fairfield County potters who work and exhibit together.

Recently featured in The Connecticut Post, Heidrun Morgan (heidrunglasscreations.com) creates decorative and functional glass art including mosaics, fused glass, glass weaving and stained glass. Her work appears in homes throughout the United States and Germany, as well as in local galleries.

Stacey Olszewski, a decorative and primitive folk artist, is well-known for her Santas, signage, and local scenes.

Joan Pollak (joanpollak.com), whose work appears in local galleries and private collections, specializes in animal art created from locally sourced, hand painted driftwood. Her hanging and freestanding sculptures - of both domestic and exotic animals - are preserved for display indoors and out.
