To celebrate the upcoming Lenten season, Newtown United Methodist Church hosted its first “Methodist Mardis Gras” talent show on Saturday, February 23.

Young adults representing a number of Newtown’s houses of worship will be traveling in June to Guyan Valley, West Virginia, where they will spend a week with Appalachia Service Project. Ahead of that, however, 40 Newtown Ecumenical Workcamp Servants spent a very cold night outdoors, raising awareness among themselves and funds for their week-long service trip in June.

Get ready for Bingo fun and cash prizes, along with raffle giveaways and concessions, when St Rose of Lima School hosts its next Friday Bingo Night.

The 29th season of Saturday Pasta Dinners at Newtown United Methodist Church will continue this wekend. Dinner will be served Saturday, February 2, from 5 to 7:30 pm. A coffee house with live music will follow beginning at 7:45.

Newtown Congregational Church will host a special meeting of its members this month.

The St Rose Home School Association will continue its 2018-19 Bingo season this weekend.

Congregation Adath Israel, in collaboration with Newtown Interfaith Clergy Association, opened its doors to the community at large Friday evening, December 14, welcoming those of all faiths and beliefs and those in need of comfort to celebrate a special Service of Remembrance on the day marking the sixth year since the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The lobby and gathering room at Congregational Adath Israel were filled with revelers Tuesday evening as guests of all ages enjoyed traditional Hanukkah foods after an outdoor menorah lighting ceremony marked the third night of Hanukkah.
