The Resiliency Center of Newtown will offer a mind-body skills group, facilitated by Lisa Donohue-Olivieri, starting on Friday, January 10.

As influenza activity picks up this fall, the American Red Cross is urging healthy donors of all blood types to give blood or platelets to ensure a strong blood supply for patients in need.

A number of the agencies and individuals who answer the call when someone in Newtown needs help were introduced and celebrated Friday, October 25.

Maplewood Senior Living will host “A Personal Perspective with Geri and Jim Taylor,” on Wednesday, October 30. The program will be offered at noon at Maplewood at Southport, and then at 5 pm at Maplewood at Stony Hill in Bethel.

The Newtown Parent Connection and Newtown Prevention Council are bringing in a top national expert on the dangers and effects of vaping for a series of Newtown Middle School and High School sessions, as well as a public presentation Thursday, November 7, from 7-8:30 pm, in the middle school auditorium.

Veterans and first responders were invited to attend American Legion Post 202 Newtown/Brookfield’s first Cardiac Prevention and Wellness Clinic at the Newtown Community Center on Thursday, October 10, from 3:30 to 8 pm.
