All town offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, in honor of Independence Day. While July 4 falls on Saturday, all federal, state, and local government buildings will be closed for business on July 3.

Newtown Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library also will be closed on Friday, July 3.

The library will remain closed on Saturday, July 4, and will reopen on Monday, July 6 (the library is regularly closed on Sundays during the summer).

The transfer station on Ethan Allen Road will be open Friday, but closed Saturday. It will reopen for regular public hours on Tuesday, July 7.

There will be no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services for the United States Postal Service on Saturday, July 4.

The Bee offices will also be closed on Friday. We will reopen on Monday, July 6.
