Hartford SCORE Workshops

Are Free

HARTFORD — The Greater Hartford Chapter of SCORE has announced an upcoming series of special seminars specifically designed for small business owners.

SCORE is the federally sponsored business counseling service composed of experienced business professionals who volunteer as counselors to existing businesses as well as to those contemplating starting a business. The Greater Hartford Chapter of SCORE has more than two dozen members all drawn from a wide variety of business backgrounds, all of whom are available to be called on for their special expertise

The following workshops are now being offered at no charge to participants:

April 13, “How to Grow a Profitable Business.” Key topics include: identifying impediments to profitability and growth, tools and techniques available, in-depth review of a case study. Presenters include: Joel Wolff, management consultant with over 40 years experience, and John Fagan, retired vice president, Hartford Hospital.

May 11, “Social Media and Your Business Strategy.” Key topics include: finding the right network, listening for ideas to improve sales, engaging technologies to build customer loyalty, developing word of mouth “buzz” to generate sales. The presenter is Rob Peterson, president of BarnRaisers.

All seminars are held at Rensselaer-Hartford, 275 Windsor Street, and run from 10 am to noon. There is no cost for these seminars but preregistration online is recommended as seating is limited.
