To the Editor:The Newtown Bee for providing excellent coverage of my project and the process of becoming an Eagle Scout. Special thanks goes to my fellow Scouts, friends, and Scoutmasters, including Bert van de Weerdt and Bill Watts, who volunteered their time to make my project a success.

Newtown is a great place to be a volunteer. I recently completed an Eagle Scout project for the benefit of the Newtown Forest Association. The completion of the kiosk at Nettleton Preserve would not have been possible without the generous material support of East Haven Builders Supply, Newtown Hardware, Apex Glass, and Ben's Masonry. I'd like to express gratitude to Guy Peterson of the NFA who served as a liaison for the project. In addition, I would like to thank Charles Zukowski for providing his personally developed maps of the Nettleton Preserve, and Julie Vanderkroef for sharing her drone photography.
