It is an early sign of spring for the Town & Country Garden Club of Newtown: on Saturday, April 9, a bunch of stalwart gardeners converged on Planter's Choice Wholesale Nursery on Huntingtown Road, where approximately 200 plants were potted. The plants will be nurtured in the warm greenhouse for a few more weeks, and be ready for the club's Annual Plant & Shrub Sale.jgardner819@gmail.com or smotykagc@gmail.com.

This year the sale will be from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, May 20, in front of Newtown Middle School. Planter's Choice is the corporate sponsor of The Town & Country Garden Club.

The May 20 sale includes hundreds of discounted shrubs, perennials and other plants - many from gardener's own homes - and always at great prices.

Those planning to stop by are encouraged to visit as early as possible. The sale usually sells out before its posted end time.
