Newtown Parks & Rec has announced that the beach at Eichler's Cove is closed today due to aquatic treatment scheduled for Lake Zoar.

"Although treatment at Eichler's Cover beach area is not present, we have been advised to close the beach today," the department said via email statement around 2:15 Thursday afternoon.

Treadwell Pool, on Philo Curtis Road, is open until 7 pm.
