Special panel discussion with Newtown native and US Marine Corps Captain Chris DiNoto, his Afghani translator Karim Ahmadi, and Reverend Dr Steven R. Jungkeit (senior minister, First Congregational Church of Old Lyme), hear the story of DiNoto and Ahmadi’s work in Afghanistan, DiNoto’s promise to get Ahmadi out of Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, the latter’s recent arrival in the US, and the discussion of the efforts entailed in housing Afghani refugees in Connecticut, to be moderated by CHB Assistant Director Jennifer Nash, registration requested (required for program link); 203-426-4533, chboothlibrary.org.
