C.H. Booth Library Director Moving On To Ridgefield
The trustees of the C.H. Booth Library announced Friday, October 21, that C.H. Booth Library Director Brenda McKinley has accepted a position as director of the Ridgefield Library, effective January 2.The Cyrenius H. Booth Library's mission is to promote the joy of lifelong learning, stimulate curiosity, support the exchange of ideas, and provide a welcoming gathering place for our community.
Ms McKinley joined the staff of Booth Library in 1995. She progressed through successive levels of increased responsibility during her 20-plus years, becoming library director in 2014.
Speaking for the Board of Trustees, President Robert Geckle said, "It is a bittersweet moment to announce the hire of Brenda by the Ridgefield Library. Brenda's leadership has been exemplary, as acknowledged by the library board, the community, and her colleagues. Clearly, her talents were recognized by Ridgefield, as she was selected out of 46 applicants. We will miss her leadership of our library, but congratulate her on this significant new opportunity."
The Board of Trustees intends to organize a search committee consisting of trustees, staff, and community representatives to conduct a search for a new director.
