‘Bottles Of Hope’ Workshop

Tracy VanBuskirk, a local polymer clay artist, will lead a workshop on Tuesday, November 6, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, at C.H. Booth Library in Newtown. Ms VanBuskirk will teach the class how to make beautiful bottles, “Bottles of Hope,” to give to cancer patients and their families as a symbol of hope and with wishes for their recovery.

“Bottles of Hope” are small nontoxic glass medicine bottles used during chemo that are covered in polymer clay, a colorful and easy-to-use material. Started in 1999 by a cancer survivor in Rhode Island, the bottles of hope project is now active across the country and in Canada.

The workshop is free, but a refundable deposit of $10 is required to reserve a space. Participation is limited to ten people. Sign up at the library, 25 Main Street, or call 426-4533.
