DeAnn Prosia, whose work is currently being featured in "From Photo To Plate To Print: The Etchings of DeAnn L. Prosia" at Newtown Municipal Center, will offer an artist's talk about her approach to etchings on Wednesday, June 28. Ms Prosia's program will be within the main corridor of the municipal center, where a collection of her etchings is on view. It will run from 6 to 8 pm.

"I'll be talking about the path I took to become an artist," Ms Prosia said. "How I started doing etchings and how my time living in German influenced my work."

Ms Prosia will also be discussing the specific process of creating an etching, and will be bringing the plates and tools she uses in her work.

A resident of Newtown, Ms Prosia has been creating and selling art works since 1990. Her work is in the permanent collection of New-York Historical Society Museum Collection; New York Public Library Print Collection; The International Exlibris Centre, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium; The Graphic Gallery Fund Collection, Varna, Bulgaria; Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga University, Spokane, Wash.; and University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, among others.

Attendees will have a chance to sign up for a visit to her studio, where she will demonstrate her printing technique.

The program is being sponsored by Newtown Cultural Arts Commission. For additional information contact NCAC Chair Laura Lerman at 203-426-3769.
