Award-winning painter Joanne Conant, whose art is currently being featured in "Water Views" at Avance Day Spa, 32 Church Hill Road, will be celebrated during an artist's reception on Sunday, September 17.

The public is invited to join Ms Conant from 11 am until 2 pm, when light refreshments will be served within the space that is hosting the collection of Ms Conant's seascapes. The artist is a resident of Newtown.

The collection, according to curator Rosemary Rau, "echoes with the sound of the surf and memories of walks on sandy beaches, mingled with countryscape paintings of tranquil ponds, streams, and marshes."

The exhibition will remain on view through September 30. In addition to the reception, the spa and exhibition can be visited Tuesday and Thursday, 11 am to 8 pm; Wednesday, 10 am to 6 pm; Friday, 9 am to 6 pm; and Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm.
