To the Editor:

As Newtown's previous town clerk of 20 years, I am excited for Newtown and the endless possibilities for Newtown's government with the future leadership of Will Rodgers and Jeff Capeci. During my tenure as town clerk, I met and became good friends with Will Rodgers as he conducted business in the town clerk's office and shortly thereafter he became a Legislative Council member.

He is a very highly respected lawyer, rated among the top by his peers and is also a retired Marine JAG officer. Soon after Will took office as a Legislative Council member, it became very clear why his peers had rated him in the top of his profession. He totally committed himself to the council, eventually serving as chairman of the group, always exhibiting a strong passion for fairness, professionalism, and most of all maintaining integrity in all he did. His experience on the Legislative Council provided him with endless knowledge of the inner workings of the government of Newtown.

Will was then elected to serve as selectman with First Selectman Pat Llodra. He has served as selectman during the worst of times for Newtown and through that experience, has gained an even greater passion to bring Newtown to the best of times. Jeff Capeci also served on the Legislative Council and also served as chairman of the council, also gaining endless knowledge of the inner workings of the government of the Town of Newtown. With all this said, these two men have unequaled knowledge of Newtown's "inner core" and their dedication and passion to making Newtown the best place to be, can not be matched.

Vote for Will and vote for Jeff. In addition to being the most qualified, they are both great men and will be a good influence on each other. Their combined knowledge of and dedication to the Town of Newtown and its government is invaluable. I truly believe they are an incredible team and will accomplish amazing things for this town that we all love so much.
