OBERLIN, OHIO â A 30th anniversary celebration of the Venturi wing at The Allen Memorial Art Museum At Oberlin College will take place Saturday, March 10, from 10 to 12:30 pm, in the Sculpture Court.
Architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown will join former museum director and art department chair Richard Spear in recollections of the 1977 addition to the museum building and the art building.
Two Oberlin alumni, Frederick Fischer, Class of 1971, of Frederick Fischer and Partners Architects in Los Angeles, and Matthew Morong, Class of 2001, currently an architectural student at the University of Pennsylvania, will briefly talk about the impact the building had on the development of their careers.
