A Star Role Model

To the Editor:

I am writing to endorse my aunt, Maureen Crick Owen, for the position of selectman in Newtown. As a lifelong resident of Newtown, Maureen has expressed a strong desire to serve her community since before I can remember.

Maureen was a paralegal for more than 35 years, a career that requires teamwork, excellent communication skills, and a forward-thinking mindset. She has since taken on the role of office administrator for Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association where she exhibits fine leadership qualities and proves solid reliability. She is president of the Newtown Village Cemetery. In addition, she was recently hired as the Borough's Zoning Enforcement Officer and Building Official. Now she's running for selectman with Dan Rosenthal. With her community involvement at an all-time high, she continues to remain composed and poised throughout it all; it's a true testament to her time-management skills and dedication.

Not only has Maureen been a star role model to the community, but she has also been one of the most rewarding role models to me. She makes time for those that matter most, and I can assure you that includes the Newtown community. Maureen is 11th generation in Newtown and she has dedicated her life to the town. Her past accomplishments and genuine character convey that she has her priorities in line. And serving her community has been and will remain at the top of that list.

I hope the town of Newtown will give her the opportunity to continue her passion for serving through the position of selectman come this November 7.

Very truly yours,

Emily J. Crick
