To The Editor:

I write this letter to endorse Dan Rosenthal for first selectman. Dan's message for our future, "One Newtown, All Together, Moving Forward," leads us in the right direction and I fully support his candidacy.

I have known Dan for 35 years and can vouch for his honesty, integrity, and dedication to our hometown.

Dan's business career experience in the financial industry will prove to be invaluable in managing town projects and initiatives. Dan's clear ideas on economic development will broaden our commercial tax base and reduce residential property tax burdens. In addition, Dan understands the necessity of developing a long-term strategic plan so that our community can make informed decisions on future capital investments.

Community service experience, including elected positions for the Police Commission, Legislative Council, and Planning & Zoning Commission, and volunteer board positions for the Rotary Club, Center for Support & Wellness, and Youth Lacrosse, has prepared Dan to be a leader for our entire community. Dan will promote an atmosphere of openness as well as hold himself and others to the highest level of accountability.

Dan's personal character, business acumen, and leadership skills will help guide Newtown in the right direction. I confidently recommend Dan Rosenthal for first selectman.
