To the Editor:

On Monday night, a small group of us gathered at Fairfield Hills at dusk to commemorate my husband's mysterious disappearance one year ago. We set sail 50 wondrous paper lanterns powered by candlelight, best wishes and love into the night sky in his honor.

Those paper lanterns were symbolic of the unbelievable community of friends who have lifted my family's spirits and carried us through these tumultuous and troublesome times . We are forever grateful.
