Holiday Bus Trips With Artistic Spin

WATERBURY — The frost is hardly off the pumpkin, but now is the time to plan for some special holiday outings with family and friends. To make planning easier, Mattatuck Museum has put together a special day trip for all ages.

The museum will host an excursion to New York City on Sunday, December 9. The trip will leave the museum, at 144 West Main Street,  at 7 am and travel by chartered coach to the Big Apple.

There will be a stop en route for coffee before arriving in the city for the first highlight of the trip: a tour of selected collections at the Metropolitan Museum. Lunch at the museum’s café will be a choice of either salmon or filet mignon and accompaniments.

After lunch, there will be a  guided tour of places of interest along the way to Rockefeller Center. Participants will then have free time for holiday shopping or simply take in the sights and sounds of Christmas in the city until approximately 4 pm. The bus will arrive back in Waterbury around 6:30.
