Lisa Phillips To William M. Mead

Dr Arthur Phillips and Barbara Phillips of Newtown announce the engagement of their daughter, Lisa Amy, to William Marston Mead, son of William and Jeanne Mead of Lynchburg, Va.

The future bride is a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1986. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Oberlin College, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in English. She received a master of fine arts degree in writing from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a writer and reporter for WAMC Northeast Public Radio in Albany, N.Y.

The future groom is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a master of fine arts degree in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He is an artist and a freelance museum exhibit design consultant.

A May wedding is planned.
